The Future of Manchester City Soccer

Manchester City, a club of relatively recent history (and my favorite in the world). When you look back in time, Man City doesn’t really have much to show. Sure, you have the likes of Colin Bell or Neil Young, but those aren’t household names. If you ask most fans who the best player in the history of the club is, they will probably say a Sergio Agüero, Vincent Kompany, or a player that likely still plays for the squad. Let’s stop discussing the past and modern day though, and let’s look into the future. This is the real first time that Man City has players that are on the first team and have true superstar potential. Among these players are Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sané, and Raheem Sterling. Jesus, from Brazil, first started his career at Palmeiras. After years of being on their academy, he finally emerged as a star on the first team and Brazil national club. Man City brought him in during the winter transfer period of last season and Jesus has been putting in the work. His effortless goalscoring abilities and natural athleticism make him a player to fear now and for many more years to come. Leroy Sané, a German-born player, emerged as a great young players during his stint with the Bundesliga club, Schalke. City brought him in last year, and while he played alright, this year is the one where soccer fans worldwide are truly seeing his insane passing and scoring attributes, making him one to watch. Lastly comes Raheem Sterling. Man City was able to steal him away from Premier League rivals, Liverpool, two years ago. For Sterling, it has been more of an adjustment period than the other two players listed, but this wait has been well worth it. His speed is unmatched, as well as he keen eye to place the ball at the right place for the forwards. His ever improving scoring touch, also makes him a real threat in all types of European competition. If these three players keep playing the way they have been and get even better, this club and it’s fans will have something to cheer about for many years to come.
