To most sports enthusiasts, the words “Game Seven,” carry both excitement and a degree of expectation to them. We anticipate these games that are of the highest stakes, to provide us with roller coaster of emotions, even as neutrals. I expect nothing less from tonight’s game 7 of the World Series between the Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals.
This series has been incredibly entertaining to watch, as the road team has won every game so far. The Nationals are hoping to keep that statistic in tact, as the game will be played in the jam-packed MinuteMaid Park in Houston. There will be two former Cy Young Award winning pitchers going at it tonight in Max Scherzer (Washington) and Zack Greinke (Houston), as well as two sets of batting lineups that are capable of racking up runs in an instant.
My prediction? More of the same. I expect this to be a close, relatively high-scoring game, where defense and pitching will be even more crucial than usual. As much as I would love to see the underdog story get the rightful ending it deserves for Washington, I think the Astros will come out victorious to win their second World Series in three years.
The home crowd will be deafening tonight and I believe that the postseason experience of this Houston Astros team will be the ultimate factor in this championship deciding game.
