In what has been the most significant NBA news in 2019, superstar F/C Anthony Davis has submitted a trade request to the New Orleans Pelicans. This comes amid reports that the Pelicans were mustering up a lucrative contract extension. Via his agent Rich Paul, Davis has made it clear that he has no intentions to sign an extension nor play for the team in the future. Frankly, after many years of mediocrity and underachieving, AD looked destined to leave New Orleans sooner rather than later.
There will be many teams lining up to make an offer for Davis between now and July, as he still has another year left on his contract with the Pelicans. I will be going into more detail as to which teams I think will make a move for his services in a future blog post, so stay tuned!
